Germany provides Nepal grant assistance worth Euro 24.3 million

The government of Germany has agreed to provide a total grant assistance of Euro 24.3million (equivalent to Rs 3.2 billion) to the government of Nepal for the implementation of three projects in Nepal.

The government has agreed to provide support for promotion of solar energy in rural areas, improvement of mother and child care in urban areas through Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital in Kathmandu and for the sustainable economic development in rural and semi-urban areas.

The agreement for this financial cooperation was signed between the secretary at the Ministry of Finance (MoF) Rajan Khanal and German Ambassador to Nepal Roland Schafer at a function here today.

German envoy Schafer viewed that the financial assistance Germany was going to provide to Nepal had reflected the long-standing cooperation and collaboration between Germany and Nepal.

Similarly, Secretary Khanal expressed sincere gratitude on the behalf of the government of Nepal to the government of Germany for this assistance and for Germany’s continued support to the socio-economic development of Nepal.
